Blue Grama's and Their Needle and Threads!

Not exactly what you thought huh?  Well, let me introduce you to Bouteloua gracilis and both Stipa comata and Stipa viridula!  These are just some of the native grasses found in the Mixed Prairie!  The slender, flag-like grass is Bouteloua, otherwise known as 'Blue Grama' grass and is one of my fav's!  The tall, slender, whispy-like grasses in the back ground are Stipa's and are more commonly known as 'Needle and Thread' or 'Speargrass' and 'Green Needle Grass!'  The Blue Grama's and their Needle and Thread's definitely go hand in hand on the Mixed Prairie!
