Yes, Michichi! This wonderful little reservoir is situated in Starland County and is one of those small gems found in a person's backyard that one never pays attention to! GUILTY! This was our first time there. There are no motorized crafts permitted, which lends itself to a great afternoon out with the canoe! Seeing that it was the LAST day of summer holidays for the boys, we thought it would be a great way to spend the afternoon!
If you enjoy birding and a peaceful atmosphere, this is a great place!
Non-breeding Red-Necked Phalarope's (Phalaropus lobatus) ... is my guess. By the way, taking photos from a canoe with your children assisting the helm is certainly a challenge! Having your lenses and camera aboard keeps you on your toes! LOL!

Non-breeding American White Pelicans (Pelecanus erythrorohynchos). I love these characters! They are so big and appear to be so clumsy, yet fly with amazing beauty.
Hmm ... I think Red Phalaropes (Phalaropus fulicaria), which, if they are is pretty cool. These birds nest in the Arctic and pass through Alberta primarily during the fall migration, making them a rare sight. That being said ... if they aren't Red Phalaropes and you do in fact know what they are ... let me know!
It was a great afternoon with our boys! Full of sights, sounds and best of all laughter! A perfect way to end their summer! Hopefully, we can get the canoe out one more time this season!
