As the ghosts were lurking throughout our trees ... we had 'Indiana Jones' down and out with a flu bug!  It's never fun being sick ... especially on a fun day like Halloween!

Into The Fog ...

Another busy day that had me on the road ... the road that seemed to go nowhere!!! 

Snowberries ...

A quick snapshot before heading out for the day!  A bit more fog and a bit more frost but in the morning light it makes these Snowberries (Symphoricarpos albus) look that much more delightful ... as if they've been dusted with sugar!  The deer population should have plenty to browse on this Fall and Winter.  

Conflict Resolution

When two seasons clash (in this case, Autumn and Winter), it would appear, Mother Nature's way of resolving the conflict is by painting over the entire landscape with a layer of beautiful hoar frost and warm morning sunlight!  It was a BRISK -7C this morning but her tactics worked ... at least I thought so!

As the snow flakes fell off and on last night, leaving a dusting of snow on the landscape and frozen droplets dangling on the rather 'naked' trees, I was struck with the reality that our 'Autumn' would once again, be short and sweet!

Today, despite the very cold wind (Brrr...), we gathered up the girls, the babes and the boys and moved them a 'smidge' closer to home!  It's hard to believe the end of October is rounding the corner ... 

Southbound ...

Here I am!!!  I know ... it would appear I am missing a month's worth of images.  To say "life" this Fall has been hectic would be a bit of an understatement ... so, before I get even further behind, here are a couple of shots from today.  The Snow Geese were on the fly ... which they have been for awhile but today seemed so different ... their flight pattern so intent on a "non-stop, southbound" direction!   I reiterate ... I love migration except when you are saying "good-bye!"
